Fall 2026 In-house Recreational Soccer

Bainbridge Island FC’s Recreational Soccer programs are designed to provide a fun, community-oriented soccer experience for players of all skill levels. This includes first-time soccer players, experienced Recreational players and Select Soccer players. 

​Our Recreational programs put community, sportsmanship and friendship first. We value the development of interpersonal skills for our players as they learn to interact with high school player-coaches, parent volunteer coaches, referees and their peers from other grades, schools and social groups.

BIFC offers the following leagues in our Rec Soccer program: 

  • Kindergarten Coed (4v4) 
  • Girls 1st-2nd Grade (4v4) 
  • Boys 1st-2nd Grade (4v4)  
  • Girls 3rd-4th Grade (7v7)
  • Boys 3rd-4th Grade (7v7)
  • Coed 5th-8th Grade (7v7)

Program Details

Who: BIFC Rec Soccer is open to players of all skill levels who are in Kindergarten-8th grade. 

Where: All games and practices are held at Woodward Middle School.

When: September 9-October 31*

*THERE IS NO REC SOCCER ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 DUE TO A WOODWARD MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK MEET.

Kindergarteners will practice once per week with games on Saturdays.  The 1st-2nd Grade League and the 3rd-4th Grade League will practice twice per week with games on Saturdays. 

Due to the Woodward Middle School Track Team’s schedule, there will be no Rec Soccer on Monday, September 21.   

Mondays (with the exception of September 21):

  • 3:45-4:45 pm: 5th-8th Grade Practice
  • 5:00-6:00 pm: 1st-2nd Grade Practice
  • 6:15-7:15 pm: 3rd-4th Grade Practice

Wednesdays:

  • 4:00-5:00 pm: 5th-8th Grade Games
  • 5:00-6:00 pm: Kindergarten Practice

Fridays:

  • 4:00-5:00 pm: 1st-2nd Grade Practice
  • 5:15-6:15 pm: 3rd-4th Grade Practice

Saturdays:

  • 9:00-10:00 am: Kindergarten and 1st-2nd Grade Games
  • 10:30-11:30 am: 3rd-4th Grade Games

Coaches

The In-house Rec League is dependent on parent-volunteer coaches.  Without volunteers to coach the teams, this league would not be able to exist.  Please consider coaching your child’s team.  No experience is necessary; all coaches are provided with drills and activities to run with their teams during practice.  BIFC staff members are on-site at all times to help coaches who need assistance.

Network Network

Kindergarten Coed (4v4)

Teams will compete in a 4v4 game format. Coaches will focus on the introduction and development of dribbling/running with the ball, spatial awareness and the social development of individuals within a group/team setting. Friend & Coach request accepted.

Network Network

1-2 Grade Boys & Girls (4v4)

Teams will be formed by grade and gender for the fall season, competing in a 4v4 game format. Coaches will focus on the further development of players; with the curriculum based on becoming dribbling masters, moving with and without the ball, spatial awareness, and instilling player responsibility and roles within the team. Friend & Coach request accepted.

Network Network

3-4 Grade Boys & Girls (7v7)

Teams will be formed by grade and gender for the fall season, competing in a 7v7 game format. Coaches will focus on the further development of players; with the curriculum based on becoming dribbling masters, 1v1 attacking/defending, and adding to each player’s responsibility and roles within the team. Friend & Coach request accepted.

Network Network

5-8th Grade Coed (7v7)

Our after-school program allows players to continue their love of soccer without the challenges of after-school pickup/driving, etc. 5-8th Grade players will have the option of walking out of school and onto the field or joining us for later evening training sessions. Friend & Coach request accepted.

Volunteer Coaches

Our recreational coaching staff is key to the success of our seasonal program. We have been very lucky to have some amazing coaches leading our young players over the years, and we are constantly looking for coaches for each season. Coaches will receive all the coaching gear they need to be successful and also receive age group appropriate curriculum and activities handbook.

Fall 2026 U13/U14 NSYSA Recreational League

Registration is now open.

We are putting together a U13/U14 team that will play in the NSYSA Fall Rec League.  This team will play a 10-game season with home games on Bainbridge Island and away games throughout Kitsap County.

Formation of this team depends on the number of available players.  There will be no tryouts for this program.  Players will be assigned to the team on a first-come first-served basis.  The U13/U14 team will practice two times per week with games on weekends.

Mini Kickers Camps & Classes

Our Mini Kickers camps and classes have run for 15+ years, and we are delighted to continue this program in 2026.

Mini Kickers offers dynamic, fun and age-appropriate activities and games for all children aged 3-5 years. BIFC’s highly–trained coaching staff will introduce soccer skills via fun games such as Dino Soccer Train, Fox and Rabbits, Captain’s Ship and other challenging activities. Guided discovery will allow each child to develop social and emotional skills and an understanding of group activities and soccer.

Program Details

Who: Any child aged 3-5 years who wishes to participate in soccer activities with their friends.

What: Mini Kickers Classes run for six weeks at a time, usually alongside our Recreational Soccer program.  Classes are 45 minutes in length and include a variety of games and soccer-related activities that are geared toward 3-5 year olds.  There will be two separate groups in the fall.  If a player wishes to attend both the Wednesday and Saturday sessions, they need to be registered for both.  

Where: Woodward Middle School  

When:

  • Group 1: Wednesdays, September 16-October 21, 5:00-5:45 pm
  • Group 2: Saturdays, September 19-October 24, 9:00-9:45 am

Cost: $125 per six-week session

Development Academy

Our Development Academy is an ideal and vibrant place for the player who wants to be introduced to the game, play with friends and participate within a developmentally focused environment.

Bainbridge Island FC is a member club of Washington Youth Soccer, and our teams play within the North Puget Sound League. Our Development Academy teams will play at least five of their 10 fall games on Bainbridge Island.  The remaining games will be played against our partner clubs on the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas or against Seattle-based clubs.

Summer/Fall Development Academy

BIFC’s Development Academy program supports the growth and development of players, and works as a link between our Recreational Soccer program and our Select Soccer program.  Players will train with an entry-level curriculum that is similar to Select Soccer training but geared toward newer players. The training format allows players to enhance their skills and love of the game through purposeful and fun activities. 

  • Development Academy players are assigned to a team based on their skill level after going through two player evaluation sessions. 
  • No players are cut from the Development Academy.
  • Players of all skill levels are welcome to play in the Development Academy, but there are a finite number of spots; usually 50.
  • Friend requests are not accepted for the Development Academy. 
  • There will be a parent information meeting on Development Academy and Select Soccer on Wednesday, March 25 from 6:45-7:15 pm in the Bainbridge High School Library.

Program Details

Who: Soccer players born from August 1st, 2016-July 31, 2018 who wish to play in a competitive soccer environment. 

Where: 

  • Player evaluations, training sessions and home games are played at Woodward Middle School.
  • Away games are played throughout the Puget Sound Region.  

When: 

  • Mandatory player evaluations will be held on May 19th and 21st from 5:00-6:15 pm at Woodward Middle School. 
  • Teams train in 75-minute sessions throughout the season.

2026 Summer Specifics:

  • July 6th: Training begins.
  • Teams will train twice per week on Mondays and Wednesdays in July and August. 
  • July 17th-19th: Viking Cup in Poulsbo
  • August 14th-16th: Island Cup Tournament on Bainbridge Island

2026 Fall Specifics:

  • Teams will train two to three times per week from September-November
  • Teams play a 10-game fall season from September 5th through mid-November with Saturday games.

TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a recreational sports program for children with intellectual, emotional or physical disabilities offered only through local US Youth Soccer-affiliated soccer clubs. TOPSoccer provides people with diverse abilities an opportunity to play soccer in a structured environment that is safe, fun, supportive, and inclusive.

Women-only Friday Night Pick-Up Soccer

REGISTRATION is now open!

Bainbridge Island FC’s Women-only Friday Night Pick-up Soccer is a place for female players to play in a safe and friendly environment.  This program will run on Friday nights alongside the Co-ed Adult Rec League.  This will be a less-formal and slower-paced game for female players who do not want to play in the Co-ed Adult Rec League.  This game is ideal for players who are new to soccer or have been away from the sport and wish to return. 

The format of these games will depend on how many players are available each Friday night.  On nights that have a large turnout, we’ll play 7v7. On nights that have fewer available players, we’ll adjust the format accordingly.

​We welcome players from all backgrounds, and we hope to have players from across Kitsap County joining us to form new friendships out on the soccer field!

There is no cost to play in this game, but all players MUST register with BIFC in order sign the applicable waiver.

Winter Soccer

Our winter programs are designed to support players of all ages and skill levels in developing their soccer abilities while enjoying the game. Whether participating in our Skills Development Academies, competitive Winter Select season, or engaging in fun indoor classes, players will benefit from skill-building activities, engaging games, and professional coaching. Programs run through winter, with sessions and games held locally on Bainbridge Island, the Kitsap Peninsula, and the Olympic Peninsula, offering flexible options for every young soccer enthusiast.
